Atlanta Programs and Camps FAQ
What are the requirements to sign up?
We do not require students to have prior financial literacy knowledge. All concepts are taught in an easy-to-understand way so no one is left behind. We do expect students to have an interest in learning the topics covered and to be able to do basic math (calculators are provided) and read at the general level of the group.
Who is going to teach my child?
We recruit college students to instruct the camps. After extensive background checks, the college students go through a week-long training, where they learn what and how to teach your student.
You will receive the names and bios of your child’s instructors in an email just before the program begins.
Disciplinary Issues?
Disciplinary issues will be handled on a “three strike” policy with students being asked to leave the program at the third strike without a refund. Please be sure to discuss your expectations for behavior with your student.
Which class should I choose?
Our enrollment process separates children by age in order to ensure all students are comfortable. If you have a child that is on the cusp, please consider their level of maturity and interest in the subject, not their level of understanding regarding personal finance.
I just picked a program. Will I receive a reminder/ confirmation email?
You will receive a confirmation email shortly after payment has been processed. You will receive a second email the week before your chosen program begins. That email will contain all the basic information on pick-up/drop-off locations and procedures.
When should I drop off my child?
Unless you have requested and paid for extended care, you must drop your student off no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of the program. Our instructors will be there promptly to greet you and your student at that time.
Will there be any breaks?
Students are given a 30 to 45-minute break halfway through the day for lunch along with periodic 10-minute breaks throughout the day. The day consists of activities, games and group projects that break up the day.
Is lunch provided?
For most locations, lunch is not provided. Please send your student with a bagged lunch and a water bottle each day unless your pre-camp email specifically states that lunch will be provided.
What is the point of Moola? What happens if my child wins?
Students in all Wealthy Habits programs earn “Moola” for participation, teamwork, and positive choices throughout the day. At the end of the program, the student with the highest Moola total receives a $50 investment deposited into an investment account that you and your child will need to open together.
Will my child bring home any of the course materials?
During our programs, students are given workbooks or packets that contain all the essential handouts and information for the program. Encourage him/her to bring it home at the end of the program.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel the registration, for any reason, and do so at least one week before the start of the program, please email us and we will refunded the full amount minus a 10% cancellation fee. If cancellation, for any reason, is made within the seven day prior to the start of the program, there will be no refund. If we cancel the camp/program for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
I have a question that isn’t listed here. What should I do?
